Boxing Drills
The most important thing you can do: get your kid a heavy bag. A heavy bag is the single best training tool in boxing — it builds power, technique, timing, and conditioning all at once.
Heavy Bag WorkThe foundation of boxing training. Combinations, power shots, and building a complete attack. Speed BagTiming, rhythm, hand speed, and shoulder endurance. If possible, get one — it's worth it. Jump RopeThe boxer's best conditioning tool. Footwork, coordination, cardio — all in one. Hand-Eye CoordinationBounce a ball against a wall and catch it. Tennis ball drills. Reaction training. Hand-eye coordination is KEY. Bag Work BasicsGetting started with the bag — stance, distance, and basic combinations. Shadow BoxingNo equipment needed. Visualize an opponent, practice movement, and refine technique. FootworkStance, movement, angles, and the pivot — where ring generalship starts.
The equipment priority: Heavy bag first, then various weight gloves (bag gloves + sparring gloves), then a speed bag if possible, then a jump rope. That covers 90% of boxing training.
