Olympic Boxing Rules
Olympic boxing follows IBA (International Boxing Association) rules. Bouts are 3 rounds of 3 minutes for men, 3 rounds of 3 minutes for women. Scoring uses the 10-point must system with 5 judges. Weight classes differ from professional boxing. No headgear for men (removed in 2016), headgear required for women. Olympic boxing is amateur — no professional boxers compete (though this rule has evolved in recent years).
